Parque Nacional Desierto del Sarigua

It is located in the district of Parita in the province Herrera in Panama. Its surface is 8,000 hectares and is also the only desert in the Republic of Panama.

With a history of more than 11 000 years of human occupation, it becomes one of the oldest areas of Panama and is considered one of the driest land in the country. Although mistakenly called desert, it is an albino, given the process of salinization that has suffered.

It was founded in January 12th, 1985
